"A wise and frugal government which shall leave men free to regulate their
own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth
of labor the bread it has earned — this is the sum of good government."
— Thomas Jefferson
(1743-1826), US Founding Father, drafted the Declaration of Independence, 3rd US President

the gratitude campaign
While I have struck up conversations with those who serve and said thank-you; I would have said it even more often with this. Thank you, to all those who serve and have served.

Psalm 12, Save from Lying Lips
Simply by 'chance' this was the first Psalm I read in my personal worship time.
Psa 12:1-8 ESV
To the choirmaster: according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.
Save, O LORD, for the godly one is gone;
for the faithful have vanished from among the children of man.
Everyone utters lies to his neighbor;
with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
May the LORD cut off all flattering lips,
the tongue that makes great boasts,
those who say,
"With our tongue we will prevail,
our lips are with us;
who is master over us?"
"Because the poor are plundered,
because the needy groan,
I will now arise," says the LORD;
"I will place him in the safety for which he longs."
The words of the LORD are pure words,
like silver refined in a furnace on the ground,
purified seven times.
You, O LORD, will keep them;
you will guard us from this generation forever.
On every side the wicked prowl,
as vileness is exalted among the children of man.

Samuel Adams: Virtue & Liberty
"No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can
any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is
preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant,
and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own
weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders."
